Foster Twp. and was once a stone quarry used to construct nearby Interstate-81.
After abandonment, the pit filled with water and was later acquired by the Blythe
Water Authority for a reserve water supply. Water from this pit can be released
into a channel that flows into the Authority's Crystal Reservoir in Cass Township.
