Note that the Silver Creek Reservoir is on the Catherine Berger Tract owned by
The Schuylkill Navigation (canal) Company. In the last half of the 1800s the
Reading (railroad) Company pushed the canal out of business and acquired all
canal property by the late 1890s. Reading Company owned the C. Berger tract until
2003, when it was sold to DiRenzo Coal Co.
